For Herb Chambers 2009 Has Been Full Speed Ahead

2009 has been an exciting year of new beginnings at The Herb Chambers Companies. Presently we have no less than seven new facilities under construction or renovation.

As New England’s largest factory authorized new vehicle dealer, our facilities are vital to everything we do, from our state of the art showrooms that showcase the industry’s latest vehicles to supremely comfortable and well equipped customer environments for vehicle shopping, service or parts.

Not unlike the latest vehicles, we want our dealerships to function incredibly well and make a great statement. We believe that customer satisfaction is enhanced by innovation, style, design, great values and plain old excitement. Just like every one of our 28 brands each have their own distinct personality- -our newest facilities will as well and deliver all of these attributes and more when you shop at any one of our 44 showrooms.

BMW of Sudbury/Foreign Motors West BMW	A brand new 70,281 sq. ft. dealership featuring a 12 car two-story showroom, a 4 car exterior display canopy, a three-lane drive-in service reception area with 60 service bays, and a car wash situated on 6 acres. NOW OPEN.
Herb Chambers Infiniti of Westborough	A brand new 37,000 sq. ft. dealership featuring a suspense-building “art gallery” style layout to showcase new vehicles—complete with a coffee bar and customer lounge with plasma TVs. NOW OPEN.
Porsche of Burlington/Audi Burlington	A brand new 40,000 sq. ft. dealership built to house some the world’s finest luxury sports and performance cars. NOW OPEN.
Herb Chambers Lexus	Recently completed…A brand new 110,000 sq/ft. super luxury showroom! A vast entrance canopy – 40 car showroom with 50-foot windows. Including 50 service bays, a customer lounge with complimentary coffee and food bar, Internet access, flat screen TVs, a fireplace and children’s play area.
Flagship Motorcars/smart center Lynnfield	A brand new 18,000 sq. ft addition to this dealership will include a 2,400 sq. ft. showroom for smart center Lynnfield. NOW OPEN.
Chambers Motorcars/smart center Boston	A significant renovation adding over 7,000 sq. ft to this dealership include customer sales, lounge & service areas. Complete next summer.
Herb Chambers Ford Truck Center	An all new 70,000 sq. ft. truck service center & state of the art body shop. NOW OPEN in Braintree, MA..
Mercedes-Benz of Natick	A Complete 50,000 sq. ft. renovation of the entire Facility starting next spring.

Herb Chambers: “We’ve Got It” – Including Great Hybrid AND Diesel Models!

As trends go, I continue to hear a lot about fuel economy which frequently leads to a discussion about two of today’s interesting vehicle types. The first of course is the hybrid, which as you know derives its power from a combination of battery power and a gasoline internal combustion engine working in unison. The second is the tried and true diesel, significantly re-engineered to burn much cleaner while delivering great performance and record low-emissions levels.

Let me first discuss hybrids. It’s no secret that these vehicles have set sales records in 2008. In fact, sales have jumped by over 66% this year alone! These greener vehicles are so popular that nearly every main-stream auto manufacturer has or will be offering a hybrid model and in some cases, several models. This is a great sign that the industry is continuing to embrace the importance of reducing hydrocarbon emissions while building vehicles that will deliver you to nearly any destination in style, comfort and do so using less fuel!

Secondly, diesel engine vehicles are on the way from Mercedes-Benz & BMW and we are currently taking orders for delivery later this year when they arrive. This was a favorite of some manufacturers throughout the 70’s and early 80’s for engine longevity and MPG. Well, diesels are now poised to make a dramatic comeback in brilliantly re-engineered form to burn much cleaner with much lower sulfur emissions), without the noise that was associated with diesel power, provide truly outstanding performance and deliver greater MPG – all while luxury drivers enjoy tremendous new levels of torque and power. Additional diesel options will be coming soon from Audi, Cadillac, Ford, Honda & Saturn.

I do believe that in the next decade the vehicle landscape will continue to evolve with unprecedented choices of exciting vehicles and you can bet we will have them all in our 45 showrooms.
